Callum Enters Art Contest

Just had a very excited phone call from Callum. Last week, he submitted a picture to his school for entry into the Mid-South Fair art contest. The school picks two pieces of art from each grade to submit to the competition itself. And Callum's was one of the two second grade pictures chosen!!! We are not sure when he will find out if or where he places overall, but even getting chosen is very exciting! Good job Callum!!

His picture was of a chimera fighting a fire breathing dragon. Very Callum! He had a detailed background of trees (one with a branch on fire because of the dragon) and dancing stars. I'll try to scan it when we get it back, but I might have to do it in sections, and piece it back together...

A bit late - but this was the first day

This was Isabelle on her first day. She is now well into week two, and still getting gold stars for her good behavio(u)r. How different siblings can be!

She's like a dog, only smaller! And yeah - the book is really working - NOT! This is a rare picture of me. Don't expect many more.

Oh yeah - and she is doing good with preschool too. Mainly.

Isabelle's First Day

Belle went to Kindergarten today. She is in Miss Amy's class, and got a gold star for good behaviour! Well done, Belle!

Back to school

Callum went back to school yesterday. His new teacher is Ms Boyd, and she seems very nice. Callum seems to like her too, so we are hoping for a good year! Isabelle has one day this week, then starts Kindergarten in force next week, at Evergreen. She is so ready - reading "Dick and Jane" like a trooper! Lexie is going to be going to play school two days a week at the same place. So that will leave Pennie and Maggie at home to pimp out some nannies...

Last Days and Dog Days

 
Meet the newest Heath: Maggie Rose. She is a Shorkie. She is just eight weeks old - we got her today. She is very sweet, but only 2lb 12 oz. She may get to be 10 or 12 lbs. She is also asleep on my arm right now, so I am typing one handed. Please pardon my typing! I'll add a picture of Belle with her later. EDIT - Here it is. This one is from my cell phone, taken in the puppy shop:



Pennie's last day at St Jude was yesterday. I think she is quite conflicted - she has been there for 13 years. But she will have a chance to focus on the Lockett Center now. And house training...

Obviously, Friday was also Sarah's last day too. She was sad to leave too, and the kids will miss her awfully. But they will get to see her still. She was sad too, but is going on honeymoon (finally), then will start a new job, at the Montessori school, when she gets back.
